Privacy Policy

Effective: January 1, 2025 Last Updated: January 2, 2025

Introduction

The policy detailed here discusses how Hues handles your user data and protects your privacy. Hues is a role customization bot that allows users to change different aspects of their roles i.e. name, color, and icon.

Data Collection and Usage

As of writing this policy, Hues currently collects the following information from your server:

  • Server ID

  • Role ID

  • User ID

Each type of identification number allows Hues to pinpoint accurately which role belongs to whom which is an essential functionality for allowing the bot to reassign the exact custom role when a user leaves the server, allowing the bot to list all the roles connected to each user via /listcustomroles, and allowing users to edit their specific role such as /editcustomrole. Its used to make a link between the user and their custom role. Hues uses Google Analytics to keep track of user visits on the website.

Hues tracks member joins using member intent: this is for our role persistence feature--no data of member joins is kept.

Storage of Data

The data is stored away in a private database where only the bot developer and his team have access. If the data were breached or used maliciously, all parties will be notified: we assume no liability if this were to happen. The data is not sold: its also not given to third-party services except for Google Analytics. In cases where it is required by law or a Terms of Service (TOS) agreement: the data is handed over to the proper authorities.

Data Access and Retention

The only parties allowed to access the data are the bot developer and the bot developer's team. The data is kept indefinitely in our database; however, staff members are allowed to individually remove the roles using the /disconnectarole command which is a bipartite command that removes the user's data from our database and unassigns the role from their profile.

User Rights

At any point in time, you have the right to make a request to view the data concerning your Discord account. You may submit a request through the Discord Support Server: If you would like to request the removal of the data, you should first contact staff members of the server you are a member of since they have the ability to remove your data using the /disconnectarole command.

Questions

We are available to answer your privacy related inquiries on our Discord Support Server.
